Andrew’s JCW Lunacy Results & Match Ratings: Ep# 87
Three titles on the line! Two World Champions? Something’s gotta give…
Big Al is searching for HoKane this week after the bathroom beatdown. EC3 got his ass kicked going 1-1-1 in Vince Russo’s Triple Play to make up for his three weeks off. Joel Gertner’s talking has come to an end and we know his man, is Josh Bishop. The last JCW World Champion before the Lunacy World title was created because Bishop couldn’t make the first Lunacy tapings.
Caleb Konley has the crazy ability to find ways to win matches where he’s completely outclassed. So he’s supposed to get a World title shot tonight. Let’s see how everything shakes out!
New JCW Lunacy STARTS NOW and Big Al is looking for Hokane!

Well, Well, Well…we open the show with Joel Gertner and Josh Bishop. Gertner basically says Violent J never asked Bishop for a reason why he couldn’t make it to the tapings, and just stripped him blindly. EC3 is sick of listening to Gertner so he comes out. “I have survived NXT The Game Show, Dixie Carter’s shitty conference calls and now Vince Russo’s shitty booking”…is a nice little line from EC3. EC3 doesn’t care who the title holder is, he’s gonna turn the title into a REAL World title. Kerry Morton’s music then comes out and our dorky little “Rizz God” saunters out with some information. Kerry Morton was apparently sent to take the JCW World Title off of Josh Bishop.
JCW Women’s World Championship Ladder Match: J-Rod (c) vs Dani Mo
J-Rod attacked Dani mid interview, but she dogwalks Dani out through the crowd and bounces her face off the walls, guardrails and apron. J-Rod tosses Dani in the ring and the bell officially rings. Dani tries to jump but eats a Flapjack into the top rope. J-Rod grabs two ladders, stomps one to pinch Dani’s fingers and then starts setting one up in the corner. Dani finally throws a Forearm, Roundhouse and then Round Kick to the gut. Dani shoves J-Rod into the ladder and starts to set one up. Dani starts climbing and J-Rod just shoves her off the ladder.
Easy access to the belt, but J-Rod decides she wants to beat on Dani more instead of just winning the match. This gives Dani the shot to buckle J-Rod’s legs, Sliding Dropkick and Dani starts to climb but J-Rod picks her off the ladder. A little back and forth that ends with J-Rod getting the best of the situation and then beating on Dani with a different ladder. Dani gets choked against the ropes as J-Rod flexes. Dani slides off the Snake Eyes, a few quick kicks into a Spicolli Driver to give Dani a small chance.
Hair pull and Big Boot levels Dani Mo, as J-Rod looks to climb again. Sophia Rose hits the ring, to interfere. J-Rod is stalled, Dani grabs J-Rod with the Moonmist Twist! Dani climbs the ladder and wins the match!
Vito is in the back convincing Luigi to do some more dirty work because he’s trying so hard to curry favor with them. It’s obvious they’re setting him up, but Luigi is such a naive twit, it’s adds to the amusement.
Barnabas also seems to know the scent of whoever is behind the blue hoodie, and he’s conflicted. He’s still willing to talk, but he seems annoyed.
#1 Contenders Match: Choppa City vs Backseat Boyz
As Tommy and JP do their taking the shirt off gimmick, they throw the shirts on Choppa City and attack. Bruce Wayans turns it around and keeps Tommy isolated until JP pulls Tommy out of the way and Bruce eats turnbuckle. Backseatz with quick tags and taunts to the crowd. Snapmare from Tommy, he tries to keep him contained with the Headlock, Bruce Chops back to his feet, but Tommy connects a Dropkick sending Bruce back into his corner. Quick tags, Double Smash into the Tandem Bulldog, and then Wishbone on Bruce. Tommy chops Bruce’s back and Acid Reflux for a two count. Bruce finally manages a double Coconut, into a big Chop and then a Foot Chop on JP, as Bruce lunges for the tag. Tommy pulls Atiba off the apron and Bruce stays isolated. They want a Tandem Suplex, but Bruce counters and gets the Double Suplex himself! Bruce is trying to urge the crowd to surge for a tag.
Atiba is in, Chop Party into Stinger Splash, you heard of Slap Chop, well that as Splash Chop. Atiba is on fire, grabs JP but he slips it, Faygo Twist and Tom-ikaze…but Bruce breaks up the pinfall! Chops fly but then Superkicks from the Graysons keep Choppa down. Choppa crotch the Graysons, push out JP and then hit the Sucka Bustah on Tommy! Choppa City wins!
Big Al walks out to the ring still on the hunt for HoKane. Alice calls out HoKane and Ring Rat’s music plays and she calls Big Al a cockblocking bitch. She says “She’s the only slut burger she should be concerned with” because Steven won’t even fuck her anymore. Rat gets in the ring and Big Al just beats the shit out of her. Steven then comes up from behind Al and hits her with his guitar, as they stomp on Al. CoKane comes out for the save. HoKane appears and then jumps into CoKane’s arms before security pulls her away and CoKane seems confused.

JCW World Championship Title: Josh Bishop (c) w/Joel Gertner vs Kerry Morton
Violent J reinstated the title since everything Joel and Josh said, is actually true. The fans are rallying behind Kerry last few weeks, and still behind him again. He fires on Bishop, but Bishop shrugs him off, Kerry manages to get him down into a 1 count. Kerry continues to try and use speed, including a Satellite DDT, but Bishop powers out at 1 again. Kerry tries to hit the ropes and a Lariat from Bishop turns Kerry inside out.
Bishop continues to work over Kerry, throws him around, tosses him up out of the corner and slams him back down before a Stalling Suplex. Kerry tried to pop up for a surprise pinfall but Bishop shrugs it off again as Morton continues to get ragdolled. Kerry keeps fighting, and you definitely see shades of his father now. Kerry is being thrown from pillar to post, Bishop goes for another Splash but takes too long and eats the corner. Kerry starts his comeback, Spinning Back Elbow, he’s trying to hype himself for a Kiss It Goodbye, but doesn’t get all of it. Kerry goes for a Rope Run version, but Joel trips Kerry. Bishop with a Jacknife Powerbomb, and EC3’s music hits. EC3 attacks Bishop, so the match is a No Contest. Kerry is annoyed at EC3 because he thinks he had him.
Bishop slides back in, shoves EC3 into Kerry, then back to back TKO’s lay out Kerry and EC3.
We see Barnabas waiting outside for the supplier.
Luciano Family come out and we’re expecting a 6 man tag team match, but Vito excuses Kid Cadet from announcing and tells Jeff the Ref to fuck off. It turns into a beat down on Luigi because they think Luigi has been working on helping Yabo find Ruffo. Violent J’s music plays and he walks out with a kendo stick for the save. Vito tells Yabo to take out Violent J, J throws down the kendo stick and gives him a free shot. J says he’s not fighting back and wants to save Ruffo too. Yabo hits J a few times after a “I’m sorry, I love you”, and then the Luciano’s want to dogpile J, but 2 Tuff Tony and Willie Mack make the save.

JCW Lunacy World Title: CoKane (c) vs Caleb Konley
Collar and Elbow, they wrestle around with no one getting an advantage. Caleb feeds CoKane into a rope and he flips into the seated position while Caleb is just annoyed. A little acrobatic dodges and CoKane flips over the Low Sweep. CoKane takes off his vest, as they exchange Chops. CoKane grabs wrist control, Overhand Chop and the Escalera, rope walk springboard Frankensteiner, Fenix style. Baseball Slide sends Caleb into the front row. CoKane goes for a Tope con Hilo and connects with Caleb in the front row.
CoKane tries to throat Caleb on the guardrail, but Caleb slips it and shoves CoKane into the post, drapes CoKane across the guardrail for a Draping Stomp. Caleb talks shit to the fans, and then finally throws in CoKane and taunts a bit. He Hammers the back of CoKane. Caleb goes for a pinfall but only two, so he continues to deliberately smack CoKane around and then taunt the crowd some more. Caleb just chucks CoKane across the ring, near fall and Caleb is looking annoyed as he slaps on the Headlock.
The crowd helps CoKane break the Headlock, but Caleb hits a Rolling Uppercut, Drapes CoKane on the top rope, goes for the Stomp again, but CoKane dodges! Gamengiri rocks Caleb, Flying Chop from CoKane, both are down. Caleb slowly gets up, but CoKane kips up with a second win. CoKane does some rope shenanigans and then hits a Lethal Injection for a two count! CoKane is digging for his powder, and cokes himself up. CoKane wants the Coke Slam, but Vince Russo argues with the referee, CoKane punches Russo, both men start countering each others moves but CoKane manages to lock in a Scorpion Deathlock with a Deep Bridge. Caleb doesn’t tap but Steven Flowe shows up as a distraction, Russo gives Caleb the bat, Baseball Bat to the face and Caleb wins!
The Chosen One…is the champion.
Barnabas ends the show with the story revelation that it’s someone he knows, his daughter or something. He goes on that she looks just like her mother and he should’ve known earlier, but they never reveal WHO it is. All we know is that it’s either Barnabas’ daughter or someone who’s “like” a daughter to him.
Overall Score: 8/10
This was probably the best episode of Lunacy I’ve seen so far. A lot of stuff came to a head. Yabo laid out Violent J, like he was asked, so we might get answers to where Ruffo is, Barnabas found the dealer and even though we don’t know who she is…he does. Then we’ve got the culmination of the Chosen One gimmick with Caleb finally winning the Lunacy World title and ascending to the top like Russo has wanted since day 1 of his tenure.
Dani Mo is also the official Women’s Champion now, which I love J-Rod, so I’m a little annoyed, but Dani is tremendous too. In fact the JCW big 3 in the Women’s Division of Big Al, J-Rod and Dani Mo are all fantastic wrestlers and gorgeous women, so you can’t go wrong with any of them. Choppa City getting the #1 Contender spot…I’m not sure about. They’re fun, but I still don’t take that goofy chop gimmick very seriously. And that’s frustrating for me, because I’m not really a fan of 2 Tuff Tony at this point in his career. If Willie and Tony drop the belts, I’d rather it be to people who can go.
Lastly, Kerry Morton becoming a babyface is fantastic. While he’s a great shitty brat heel, I really like this underdog variation. EC3 just kinda getting in the way of the main event scene feels correct. He’s an outsider, he’s self serving, so the fact he just inserts himself wherever he feels fit, helps to reinforce the fact he doesn’t belong there.
So yeah, really fun show with some actually decent wrestling. You don’t come to the clowns for workrate…but this wasn’t a bad combination of all things!
