Andrew’s MLW Fusion Results & Match Ratings: 6.20.2026

Technically this episode is Fusion’s 200th episode, so they’re doing a 2 hour special edition! Even though their last show was the worst of the revive (I fully blame that stupid Justice vs Bishop bingo hall bullcrap stunt), the show has still been generally easy to watch, with solid action and tons of known names.

Not really sure what we’re getting here aside from I think Austin Aries gets a shot at Blue Panther’s National Openweight Championship. So let’s sit back and see what the rest of the show brings us!

Results:

Neon vs Soberano Jr

Soberano does the “too slow” on the handshake, so that at least establishes himself as the hell for people who don’t know CMLL. Quick lucha style feeling out with counters, Headscissors, and the stereotypical stare down afterwards. Neon hits a Triangle Mexican Arm Brag into a Suicida. He calls for one more, but it’s been a while and Soberano catches him with the Gamengiri, pulls him out and kicks his teeth in along the guardrail. Soberano gets a few kisses from women in the crowd and he’s playing it up well. It takes him far too long to go for the pinfall, but he knew what he was doing. A rope choke with a flex, into shooting Neon off the middle rope and just kicking him in the chest for fun.

Soberano shoves Neon into the ropes and forces him to “Flip Off” the crowd, just for fun, before perching him in the corner and kicking him. Neon finally gets a small burst, big Monkey Flip sends Soberano into the sky, he powders and eats a Tope con Hilo from Neon! Neon throws him back in, Slingshot Crossbody, into a Popping Dropkick, but Soberano tries to deposit Neon out, but he lands on his feet, Gamengiri rocks Soberano, Neon flies and eats a Dropkick from Soberano! Soberano with a flashy but stiff Enzuigiri, sending Neon onto the mat. But Neon manages a Thrust Kick into Code Red for two!

Neon tries to fire, grabs the feet, does an acrobatic way to get them both onto the corner, and then Slingshot Frankensteiner for a near fall! Neon charges but eats a Snap Powerslam from Soberano. Stalling Suplex from Soberano, he flips the hips and goes for another but Neon reverses, drapes Soberano, kicks him on the head and Double Jump Draping Stomp gives Neon another near fall. Moonsault from Neon misses, but Neon recovers quickly into a Standing Spanish Fly for two! Soberano hits a Gamengiri into a Tornillo that Neon rolls the momentum into a falsie. Another cradle from Neon, but no, Neon goes for a jump, Soberano distracts the referee and kicks Neon in the balls. Fire Thunder Driver from Soberano for the win!

Very good and Soberano looks like a million bucks in change. 

Okumura w/Kushida vs Victor Iniestra

Jobber match time, Okumura charges with a Lariat, hits a Landslide for a near fall. Sole Butt from Okumura, Back Elbow and bounces the jobber out of the corner. Victor tries a few kicks, but gets dropped by Okumura. Hanging Cutter from Okumura and Camel Clutch forces the jobber to tap. It was an easy win, and no one is surprised.

It seems @realKILLERkross is deeply concerned about @alexhammerstone, but the @SuperKingofBros won’t hear it!

Scarlett Bordeaux vs Blair Onyx

Another jobber, this one looks like a wannabe Harley Quinn who wears Spiderman outfits though. Blair is at least flexible. so she can dislocate her shoulder to get out of a Top Wrist Lock interestingly. But Blair goes for a Sliding Lariat, Scarlett Crucifix pin for two and then she kicks her “in between the thigh”. Scarlett goes for her Stink Face, but Blair bites her ass, goes a little more awkward marionette kind of joint stuff, before getting DDT’d by Scarlett. Scarlett Letter is hit, and match over.

I…don’t care about YET ANOTHER female indie wrestler who’s going for a Hot Topic gimmick.

I’m not really sure if I like MLW doing the whole “bringing people back to life thing” that TNA has kind of made their shtick. Does it make sense for Shotzi to be the one? Of course. Suspension of disbelief goes out the window when we start killing and bringing people back though.  

Hammerstone vs Ultimo Guerrero

I do enjoy the moniker of “Fallen Franchise” for the current version of Hammerstone.

Ultimo starts the match with the mask on? He lost that mask 12 years ago…why…oh just so Hammerstone could take it off. It’s less respect for the Lucha de Apuestas rules for Ultimo to even wrestle the first minute with a mask he lost. Ultimo finally turns it around with Overhand Chops into a Lariat, Ultimo then dumps Hammer to the apron, Baseball Slides him off the apron into the guardrail and Hammer is rocked. It takes a few moments, but Ultimo finally goes up and flies, landing into Hammer and Hammer crashes into the guardrail. Ultimo rolls Hammer back in, but Hammer keeps rolling to powder out. Ultimo follows and eats a Back Elbow, Hammer makes him eat the post and then Apron Powerbomb puts Hammer back in control.

Hammer hits a Pump Kick to keep Ultimo out of the ring, throws him into the time keeper’s table and bounces Ultimo around the outside of the ring. Feed Ultimo back in, Hammer throttles Ultimo, Chokeslam for a two a count. Perched on the corner, Ultimo is trying to rally, but Hammer is chuckling the crowd off. Takes entirely too long for the Avalanche spot, so Ultimo hits the Avalanche Gourdbuster! Hammer shoves Ultimo into the referee, Low Blow, Nightmare Pendulum, and Hammer wins.

I am very glad they decided to combine episodes, because the Hammer match would’ve been the main event of a single episode, and that would be an awful episode. Two Squashes and a lame finish with the revivification of Krule being the major selling point? That would’ve been a sad show, so smart move to do a 2 episodes special. 

MLW National Openweight Championship: Blue Panther (c) w/Diego Hill vs Austin Aries

I am an unabashed Austin Aries fan. He can talk, he’s technical, and he has a great style and arrogance about him. So I hope Aries beats Blue Panther so bad Life Alert shows up or sorry…Alerta de Vida.

Aries with a quick hammerlock and a slap to the back of the head, Aries is not taking this seriously. Panther manages to take down Aries, tie him up a little before he lets him back up, almost like he’s proving he could if he wanted to. So Aries Standing Switches, spins around, starts a La Magistral but then stops himself just to taunt and be funny. A lot of mind games between both of them.

Panther with a snapping twist to take down Aries and force him to retreat to the ropes. A little more aggression from Aries as Panther tries to grab a hold and Headscissor him, but Aries does his patented Handstand into Dropkick exit from a grounded Headscissors. Aries gloats and lays on the buckles, as he then rams Panther into the corner, countless Overhand Chops, and Aries mocks the fans. Triangle Crossbody from Panther off the Irish Whip, and a quick series of Lariats! Near fall for Panther, and then Shoulder Tackles Aries out of the ring as Panther follows with a Senton Atomico. Aries rolls back into the ring, powders and Diego starts jawing at Aries. Panther tries another Senton, but Aries moves and Panther wipes out Diego. Aries with a vicious Suicida while Panther looks after his protege. Stun Gun from Aries, IED hit, LAST CHANCERY! Panther is fading, he’s not tapping but he’s out! The referee calls the match and Aries is the new National Openweight Champion!

Lilli Ruiz vs Zemaya

Zemaya ragdolls Lilli, then Spears her instantly. Crossface Punches, Zemaya is savage. Zemaya leaves herself open on purpose, lets Lilli hit her once, fires and then Polish Hammer across the face. Another big hammer fist into a Killa Bomb! That wasn’t a match, that was a murder.

Mads Krule Krügger and @ShotziTCB have a bone to pick with The Skyscrapers!

Gotta love when there are threads that run through a show instead of just a collection of random slop. 

Templario vs Mistico

Templario is the only person to defeated Mistico in MLW for now, it was a tag match, but still the only person for now. So this has a little more weight than a random middleweight match would. 

Templario looks for the handshake, Mistico is tentative, but then they go into quick snapping Arm Drags, where Templario gets the best of the early flurry. A little back and forth, Templario hits the spina-a-rooni to get back to his feet and they have a respect moment. Rope rup, as Mistico hits the Tijeras and is responded to with one by Templario. Mistico tries to powder and Templario follows him with a Dive. Templario brings him back into the ring, fast action in the corner, Lariats into a takedown, then a near fall, as Templario looks annoyed at the count speed. Mistcio tries to Handspring off the ropes, but Templario catches him, Mistico then connects as Templario answers with a Superkick. Templario starts to work on the left leg and talk crap to the CMLL fans in Chicago.

Mistico is getting beat on, Templario hits stomps and splashes to the left leg, he has a plan. Templario drapes Mistico’s leg in the ropes, charges and kicks it, then he starts to torque and twist the knee in the ropes. Templario is being brutal, but not cheating. A nice Snake Eyes into the apron and stiff forearms. Templario rolls Mistico in, goes for the pinfall but a kick out. Mistico is groggy, limping and dazed. Templario goes for the mask, finally a heel move, but the referee pulls him off enough. Templario beats on him and Mistico starts asking for a timeout? Since when do babyfaces ask for timeouts?

Templario keeps kicking the back leg, he Cartwheels and gets cute, tries to follow up but Mistico moves. Templario gets rocked on the miss, a few chops and Mistico takes too damn long for his “milk the moment chops”. Templario eats a Superkick, Tiger Feint from Mistico and Mistico it rolling with the Springboard Tijeras into a Suicida Headbutt. Mistico rolls Templario back in, but Templario kicks out and scolds the official. Mistico tries a Cross Legged Cradle, but Temp kicks, Hurricanrana…but only two! Mistico tries La Mistica, but Templario just dumps him on his face and gets a near fall. Temp to the top, rope walk Missile Dropkick for another two count.

Mistico kips up and goes for a Cradle, but only two. Mistico is taking a lot of opportunistic tactics, not very babyface. Gamengiri kicks Templario, then Mistico taunts him, as a little more back and forth, Code Red from Mistico for yet another two count. Drop Toe Hold into a Wheelbarrow Suplex from Templario, but too close to the ropes, no three. Stalling Brainbuster, but Mistico counters into a Small Package…again only a near fall. Mistico calls Templario to the center, Fighting Spirit moment, Chops and then Misitco Sole Butt, they trade Superkicks, Temp hits a Flashing Knee into a Go to Sleep! Templario Cartwheel Moonsault…but only two! Templario looks to fly, Mistico cuts him off, Spanish Fly and they’re both spent in the middle. Both slowly get up at 9, Mistico fires, Twisting Rope Walk Arm Drag, Temp powders but Mistico follows with a Tornillo.

Suicida Headbutt from Mistico again! Back in the ring, Templario catches Mistico, Pele Kick Go To Sleep but only two. Both trade rope runs and Snap Powerslams, both men are down again, but Mistico crawls into a cover and Templario kicks out. Mistico goes up, Moonsault but eats Templario’s feet! Temp with the cover, but AGAIN, only two. Templario tries to go up one last time, Monsault misses, Mistico hits the rope run Destroyer! Both are down again! Mistico heads up, misses the Moonsault, but tries the La Magistral, but Templario counters into a La Magistral of his own! …Mistico kicks out! Crossbody from Mistico , La Mistica from Mistico! Templario taps out.

Awkward pacing at times, the lack of selling towards the end to invalidate the damage Templario did to start with…insults the psychology. Not a bad match, but not fantastic.

Mads Krule Krugger w/Shotzi Blackheart vs Bishop Dyer

Krule runs over Dyer on the bell. Dyer ducks the follow-up, Lariats Krule out, but Krule lands on his feet and pulls Dyer out. They brawl, Dyer gets the advantage bouncing Krule off the guardrail. Shotzi is banshee screaming to motivate Krule or distract Dyer…but it’s not working yet.

Dyer throws Krule back in, Spicolli Driver from Dyer, kick out at one from Krule. Dyer drives in some elbows and Dyer keeps yelling back at Shotzi. Shotzi is getting under Dyer’s skin, but Krule is on the receiving end. Krule keeps eat elbows and getting worked over. Whipped from corner to corner, and Krule eats a Splash from Dyer. Dyer then goes out of the ring to get in Shotzi’s face, pie faces her twice, and that pisses off Krule.

Krule splashes Dyer twice, big Boot drops Dyer and goes for Scorched Earth, but Dyer uses his elbows to get away from Krule. Dyer goes out to get the tag title, Shotzi uses the spike to inspire Krule, Krule stops Dyer’s usage of the belt. Then drops Dyer on the belt via DDT. Krule wins the match.

Dijak attacks, they Zip Tie Krule, but Shotzi tries to fight them and gets shoved around. Skyscrapers grab Shotzi, they’re gonna Chokeslam her, but seeing Shotzi in trouble has Krule snap the zip ties, and Skyscrapers try to beg off. Gallows and Anderson hit the ring to help clear the ring. All four drink tequila together!

Overall Score: 6.25/10

So, as I said during the article, it’s a good thing they combined both episodes. Because on their own…these were pretty lame in regards to in-ring action. Mistico and Templario was supposed to be the big workrate draw, but it was marred by bad pacing, going too long and “lucha logic” where some moves take too long just to allow the crowd to react. And…yeah that’s not my thing. Taking too long for a chop when you’ve done no damage to the person in 5 minutes, is just silly garbage.

Aries winning was the right call, Shotzi and Krule having their weird little Paul Bearer and Undertaker thing with the Contra Spike instead of the urn is different and Gallows and Anderson possibly being allied with them is…alright I guess. But honestly, Hammerstone’s conspiracy thing while he looks like a constantly out of breath bloated buffoon is very uninteresting, three squash matches in two hours is two too many, and if you ask me, the most enjoyable match was Soberano Jr vs Neon. The rest of the show kinda felt…like everything else you get from WWE or TNA.

Not sure if the bloom is off the rose yet, but cornball squash matches and following up a match with “historical weight” with a 7 minute big man slog that was really nothing…is a great way to devalue the main event and just hope people pop for the known names having a kumbaya in the ring with tequila.
