Big E Says Weekly WWE Commentary Isn’t For Him, Prefers Life Off The Road
Since being forced to retire from in-ring competition in 2022, Big E says he has no interest in taking a weekly WWE commentary role despite Michael Cole’s offers, because he values the time at home and the reduced travel schedule. The former WWE Champion told The A2theK Wrestling Show that he loves his “lazy weekends” with fiancée Kristen and is grateful to commentators who have sacrificed years on the road, but he’s not willing to trade his current lifestyle for the grind of constant travel.
Big E remains involved with WWE as a panelist for PLE pre-shows and post-shows and is open to similar hosting opportunities after enjoying work on the Raw Classics Netflix special and a hosting series with SumerSports around the 2026 NFL Draft. He’s also preparing a memoir, How I Got Over: Healing from Depression and Psychosis to Find Joy In and Out of the Ring, set for release on February 2, 2027, which chronicles his mental health journey and path to self-acceptance.
