Blake Monroe Debuts on WWE SmackDown With Surprise Attack in London
Blake Monroe made her official WWE main roster debut at Tuesday’s SmackDown taping at The O2 in London, launching a surprise hometown attack on Giulia. Vignettes hyping Monroe began airing in April and she briefly appeared in a backstage segment weeks ago, but the taped SmackDown — which will air Friday at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network ahead of WWE’s Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia — featured her first on-screen physical debut and the introduction of a new finishing move.
The 27-year-old Monroe (Mariah May) wrapped her NXT run in April after holding the NXT Women’s North American Championship and arrives with a decorated résumé that includes time as an AEW Women’s World Champion and stints in Stardom. A match between Giulia and Kiana James immediately preceded Monroe’s debut at the taping, making the London night a clear launching pad for her main roster storyline.
