Braun Strowman credits Vince McMahon for jumpstarting his WWE career and the “get these hands” moment
Braun Strowman says Vince McMahon first noticed him during Adam Rose’s “rosebuds” entrance in NXT, a moment he turned into opportunity despite early career injuries that included broken ribs and a ruptured L5-S1. Strowman recalled being the guy who caught Rose while wearing a toy Spartan outfit, which caught McMahon’s eye and led to a Main Event Raw debut the Monday after SummerSlam with only four matches under his belt.
Strowman also detailed how a Vince-planned rib on a live Raw — telling the referee to clear Rhino from the ring and have Strowman improvise a promo — produced the now-iconic “get these hands” line. He fought backstage for weeks to get merchandise made from the phrase, which went on to become one of WWE’s top-selling items for over a year and a half.
