Braun Strowman Reveals Origin of His WWE Ring Name
Braun Strowman said his ring name was born from a mashup of two Major League Baseball players’ names — Ryan Braun and Marcus Stroman — during a recent appearance on the 10,000 Nos podcast. Adam Scherr explained he heard “Braun” and thought “brawny,” then the conversation turned to Stroman, which eventually led to the Strowman moniker.
Strowman first appeared in WWE as part of Adam Rose’s Rosebuds before joining The Wyatt Family and breaking out as a dominant singles competitor and multi-time champion. He left WWE in 2025 to focus on a reality television career.
