Brian Cage Reveals Grueling, Last-Minute Process Behind Surprise AEW Return
After nearly a year out with injury, Brian Cage made a surprise return to AEW television on the May 13 episode of Dynamite, challenging Kevin Knight for the TNT title. Although Cage came up short, the Don Callis Family member re-established his presence in the promotion and remained active on AEW programming.
In an interview with False Finish, Cage explained the comeback was a last-minute call late Tuesday night that forced him to reshuffle a full schedule, train, travel and arrive at the arena the same day; he was cleared by the state athletic commission, treated, changed and went straight to Gorilla Position before his match. Cage has since appeared on the May 30 edition of Collision, teaming with Jake Doyle to defeat Jimmy Wild and Tommy Mars.
