Carlie Bravo says Tommy Dreamer told him he couldn’t be marketed as a “cocky black guy”
Tommy Dreamer, who spent roughly a decade with TNA working in creative, as a producer and scouting talent before parting ways with the company on June 17, is the subject of a new allegation from Carlie Bravo. Bravo shared on social media that years ago Dreamer told him he “couldn’t hire” him because he didn’t know if he could market “a cocky black guy,” posting the exchange in response to a post by referee Perch.
The interaction, as presented by Bravo, adds to conversations about talent evaluation and representation in wrestling recruiting and creative decisions. Bravo made the exchange public via social media, prompting discussion among fans and peers about past hiring practices and messaging in the industry.
