Cash Wheeler Says Randy Orton Split Was “Final Straw” Before WWE Exit
AEW’s Cash Wheeler reflected on The Revival’s brief alliance with Randy Orton, saying WWE’s decision to separate the team from Orton after their August 2019 run was the “final straw” that led he and Dax Harwood to request their release. Wheeler explained that being drafted to SmackDown while Orton went to Raw made it clear WWE had no plans for them and signaled their ceiling in the company.
Wheeler added he still regrets not getting to do more with Orton, who remains a close friend, but said he’s never regretted leaving WWE. After their release the duo debuted in AEW as FTR; the three-time AEW Tag Team Champions most recently lost the titles to Cope and Christian Cage at Double or Nothing in May.
