Dark Side of the Ring Producer: TNA Episodes Will Be “Searing, Emotional and Very Tragic”
Dark Side of the Ring co-creator and executive producer Evan Husney says season seven’s three-part TNA/Jeff Jarrett story — premiering July 7 (parts one and two) and concluding July 14 — is not the “lol TNA” piece some fans might expect. Speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Husney described the episodes as “a really searing, emotional and very tragic story” that required more time to properly explore.
Husney revealed the TNA story was originally conceived as a two-hour premiere and even planned as a standalone six-part miniseries titled The Six Sides of TNA, in the vein of Who Killed WCW?, before Vice folded it into Dark Side of the Ring. After reviewing the material, producers successfully pushed for a third hour so the documentary could “let the story breathe” and cover the broader timeline and side stories.
