David Otunga Muses on WWE Selling Tickets to AI Matches
Former WWE star and Harvard-educated lawyer David Otunga has floated the idea of WWE creating AI-produced matches and even selling tickets to those events. Otunga, who has a unique perspective as both a performer and legal professional, suggested there are intriguing possibilities for the company to monetize AI recreations of in-ring action.
He also flagged potential legal and ethical questions surrounding such a move, including likeness rights, consent from talent, and how commissions or royalties might be handled. Otunga’s comments underscore the industry-wide debate over how wrestling promotions might responsibly integrate AI while protecting performers’ rights and the integrity of the product.
