Ernest “The Cat” Miller Says Joining WCW Forced Him to Give Up Karate
Wrestling veteran Ernest “The Cat” Miller revealed that his decision to sign with WCW demanded a full-time commitment that ultimately required him to walk away from karate, the martial art he called his first love. Miller—known for incorporating martial arts into his in-ring persona—said the rigors and schedule of professional wrestling left little room for continuing his karate training at the same level.
He reflected on the sacrifice as part of the path that launched his mainstream wrestling career, noting that while karate informed his style and character, the move to WCW necessitated prioritizing wrestling. Miller’s story highlights the personal costs performers often accept to pursue opportunities on a bigger stage.
