George Barrios on his working relationship with Vince McMahon
Former WWE co-president George Barrios says his new memoir sheds light on a pragmatic, performance-focused relationship with Vince McMahon. Barrios, who joined WWE as CFO in 2008 and served as co-president from 2018–2020, described McMahon as quieter and more reserved in meetings while he himself was more vocal, noting he learned to curb his immediate reactions. Barrios and Michelle Wilson were later named to WWE’s board in 2023 and remained through the company’s sale and merger with Endeavor into TKO.
Barrios also pushed back on being labeled a “loyalist,” insisting he’s loyal but not a sycophant and that he made decisions he believed were right rather than doing favors. McMahon’s short-lived return ended with his 2024 resignation amid a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant that appears headed to arbitration, and Nick Khan became WWE president following the departures of Barrios and Wilson.
