Greg Hamilton Reflects on WWE Run: “Creative Can Make You a Superstar or Get You Cut”
Former WWE ring announcer Greg Hamilton told Forbes he learned firsthand how pivotal creative is in pro wrestling during his six-year run under Vince McMahon, recalling memorable moments like his over-the-top introduction for Shane McMahon after the WWE World Cup. Hamilton emphasized that creative direction and getting over with writers can elevate talents to Hall of Famers or lead to them being cut, a reality performers must navigate as they manage their careers and livelihoods.
Now exploring opportunities with PFL, Hamilton also weighed in on WWE’s new ownership under TKO, saying he appreciates the additional sponsorship avenues that allow performers to earn extra income. While he acknowledged the visibility of logos and branded matches, Hamilton said the financial upside under the TKO era outweighs his concerns and is a positive change for talent.
