Heidenreich’s Unconventional WWE Run: From “Little Johnny” to His 2006 Release
Heidenreich joined WWE in 2003 and became known for the bizarre “Little Johnny” angle, in which his character was portrayed as being “controlled” by an unseen entity. Throughout his tenure he adopted a string of outside-the-box, often strange gimmicks that made him a memorable figure on the mid-2000s roster.
He was released in 2006 after a run teaming with Animal, but his willingness to embrace unconventional character work left a lasting impression on fans and stands as an example of WWE experimenting with unusual creative directions.
