HENARE and Great-O-Khan issue challenge for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

IWGP Tag Team Champions HENARE and Great-O-Khan have publicly thrown down the gauntlet for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, despite not yet being booked for the June 28 pay-per-view at the SAP Center in San Jose. HENARE replied to an NJPW post on X, stating, “O-Khan and I are ready for anyone who wants to step up,” after the pair captured the IWGP Tag Team titles from the Knockout Brothers (OSKAR and Yuto-Ice) at NJPW Dominion on June 14 in Osaka-jo Hall for their second reign.

If their challenge is accepted it would create the second NJPW title defense announced for Forbidden Door, joining Shota Umino vs. PAC for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship; Umino recently accepted PAC’s challenge and will make his first defense since winning the title at Dominion in a three-way against Drilla Moloney and Andrade El Ídolo. Fans should watch for further match confirmations as the card for the cross-promotional event continues to take shape.
