Hikaru Shida and Persephone Qualify for AEW Survival of the Fittest for Vacant TBS Title

Hikaru Shida and Persephone are the first two competitors officially confirmed for AEW’s Survival of the Fittest, securing spots in the six-woman elimination match that will crown a new TBS Champion on the July 1 episode of Dynamite in San Diego. The bout will determine a successor after the title was vacated, setting up a high-stakes summer showdown on TNT/TBS.

Shida earned her place by submitting Zayda Steel and continued an aggressive post-match assault that was halted by Christopher Daniels, while Persephone defeated Julia Hart with a press powerbomb — Hart had previously kept Persephone out of action for over a month following a mist attack. With Willow Nightingale forced to relinquish the belt due to injury, several other stars including Kris Statlander, Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron have already expressed interest in qualifying for the elimination match.
