Janel Grant, Vince McMahon and WWE in talks to move lawsuit to private arbitration
Janel Grant, Vince McMahon and WWE filed a joint motion Thursday asking the court to adjourn a June 16 hearing while they “progress[] the potential arbitration agreement.” The parties requested the temporary delay to avoid consuming court resources and proposed to file a Joint Status Report within 21 days as they continue discussions over confidential arbitration.
If the parties finalize an agreement to send the January 2024 suit to private arbitration, the pending motions over arbitration and discovery would likely be mooted and the proceedings could remain confidential, preventing public testimony. Reporting indicates both sides are actively negotiating binding arbitration as the next step in the dispute.
