JBL Reflects on Original ECW, Calls WWE’s Reboot “Poorly Done”
WWE Hall of Famer JBL recently weighed in on the original Extreme Championship Wrestling, praising its gritty, boundary-pushing spirit that left a lasting mark on professional wrestling. He emphasized how ECW’s raw presentation and passionate fanbase made it a unique and influential force in the industry.
JBL also addressed WWE’s later attempts to revive the ECW brand, admitting the relaunch never captured the original’s essence and was “poorly done.” He criticized the reboot for failing to replicate the authenticity and creative edge that defined the original promotion, suggesting WWE missed what made ECW special.
