Joe Doering Passes Away at 44 After Battle with Brain Cancer
TNA Wrestling confirmed the passing of Joe Doering at 44 after a long fight with brain cancer, which returned multiple times following an initial diagnosis in 2016. Doering, best known for his run in TNA/Impact as a two-time Tag Team Champion with Violent By Design and for major success in Japan as a two-time AJPW Triple Crown Champion, was memorialized by TNA with a lengthy highlight video and messages of condolence.
Tributes poured in from across the industry, including a heartfelt reflection from Josh Alexander on their Against All Odds 2022 main event, where Alexander praised Doering’s professionalism and warrior spirit despite his illness, and messages from Sami Callihan, AJPW figures and AEW. Prominent names such as Takami Ohbari, Frankie Kazarian, Gail Kim, Lance Archer and others also honored Doering’s legacy and sent condolences to his family and fans.
