John Cena Congratulates OVW on 1400th TV Episode
John Cena, one of Ohio Valley Wrestling’s most famous alums, sent a congratulatory message as the Louisville-based promotion celebrated its 1,400th TV episode on June 11. Cena — who came up through OVW alongside stars like Batista, Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin — praised the promotion’s consistency and perseverance, joining other well-wishers such as Shawn Spears, Billy Gunn, Tommy Dreamer, Serena Deeb and Maven in marking the milestone.
In his message Cena credited OVW for giving him a start in wrestling and highlighted the values of hard work, trust, respect and persistence that kept the show running for nearly three decades. OVW, now run by Al Snow and featured in Netflix’s 2023 docuseries Wrestlers, streamed the anniversary episode live on YouTube.
