Kay Lee Ray Reveals Story Behind WWE Renaming Her Alba Fyre
Kay Lee Ray says the change to Alba Fyre was a collaborative evolution designed to reflect her heritage and intensity. In a recent interview she explained that “Alba” nods to her Scottish roots while “Fyre” captures the fiery, reborn energy WWE wanted for her character as she transitions from NXT UK to the broader WWE stage.
Ray said she embraced the new name and had input in shaping the persona around it, viewing Alba Fyre as a continuation—not a replacement—of the toughness and legacy she built as Kay Lee Ray. The rebranding is part of what she called an exciting new chapter, one she’s ready to carry forward in upcoming WWE programming.
