Kevin Nash Praises La Parka, Calls WCW Luchadores “Sweethearts”

Kevin Nash told listeners on his Kliq This podcast that La Parka was one of the top stars among WCW’s Latin crew and praised the luchadores brought into the company as “sweethearts” who all got along. Nash recalled working tag matches against La Parka in WCW and lauded Eric Bischoff’s strategy of featuring high-impact cruiserweight matches early on Nitro to hold viewers for the rest of the show.

The original La Parka was Adolfo Tapia Ibarra (now LA Park), who lost the La Parka name in a trademark dispute that led to successors in AAA; Tapia has said he prefers to remain wrestling in Mexico rather than rejoin a major U.S. promotion. Tapia later starred in MLW from 2018–2022 alongside his sons in Los Parks, a run that included a tag title reign and ended after the faction was released following an off-script brawl.
