Konnan Undergoes Double Leg Amputation, WWE Reportedly Covering Medical Bills
Lucha libre legend Konnan, 62, has undergone a double leg amputation and is now in intensive, months-long rehabilitation, Vince Russo said on The Coach & Bro Show after speaking with him. Russo confirmed the second amputation occurred after an initial procedure in March, described Konnan as “very weak” and estimated medical costs could exceed $1 million.
Russo also relayed that Konnan told him WWE has paid all of his medical expenses, a significant relief as he recovers. Konnan, who briefly competed in WWE in his career and previously served as AAA’s booker, remains involved behind the scenes and on commentary following WWE’s acquisition of AAA.
