Kyle Fletcher Admits Ring Rust After AEW Return, Details Memory Lapses

Kyle Fletcher acknowledged lingering ring rust after his first AEW match since suffering a torn meniscus and fractures to his ankle and tibia in March. In a new episode of his Protolog vlog he called the June 17 Dynamite 12-man tag — where he teamed with Andrade El Idolo, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, Kevin Knight and MJF — “the hardest one” and said he didn’t yet feel “at the top of my game” as he works to get back into shape.

Fletcher also addressed instances of taking headshots that left him unable to remember portions of matches, joking that his brain might be “made of concrete” while comparing it to “raw, uncooked pizza dough into the shape of a brain.” Despite travel-related illness and being out of ring shape, he said getting that first match out of the way “felt so good” and emphasized he needs reps to return to peak form.
