LA Knight Says Max Dupri Pitch Was a Roddy Piper-Style Idea That Didn’t Work Out
WWE star LA Knight revealed that the Max Dupri concept was originally pitched to him as a Roddy Piper-inspired character, but the idea never came together. Knight admitted the direction felt off and ultimately didn’t pan out for him or the creative team.
He spoke openly about the pitch recently, explaining that the original vision was abandoned and the character was reworked into what fans saw on television. The Roddy Piper-style concept is now one of those creative detours that didn’t make it to long-term television usage.
