Layla Rules Out WWE Return, Open to One-Off LayCool Reunion

Former WWE Divas Champion Layla said she has no plans to return to in-ring competition nearly a decade after retiring, telling Chris Van Vliet on the Insight Podcast she’s “too old” and “out of shape.” She left the door open for a one-off LayCool reunion with Michelle McCool but stressed she isn’t interested in a full-time comeback, preferring to preserve her legacy rather than risk an awkward return.

Layla also reflected on her 2006 Diva Search win and credited Fit Finlay for transforming the women’s training, praising his boot-camp approach and support that helped her capture the WWE Women’s Championship in 2010. Retired since 2015 after a near-decade WWE run, she said she’s grateful to see the women’s division evolve and grow since her time in the ring.
