Lince Dorado Becomes No. 1 Contender for AAA Cruiserweight Title
At week two of AAA Noche de Los Grandes, Lince Dorado won a five-way to earn a shot at the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship. The bout — which also featured Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Mini Vikingo and Octagon Jr. — saw Octagon Jr. suffer an injury spot and escalating tension between Wilde and Del Toro before Dorado capitalized, hitting a Shooting Star Press on Wilde for the three-count.
Dorado is now positioned to challenge Rey Fenix, who captured the cruiserweight title from Laredo Kid on week one, although AAA has yet to officially announce the championship match. The result sets up a high-flying showdown if the promotion confirms Dorado vs. Fenix for a future Noche de Los Grandes event.
