Liv Morgan stalker found not guilty by reason of insanity

A federal judge in the Middle District of Florida has ruled Shawn Chan — the man arrested outside the WWE Performance Center in June 2025 — not guilty by reason of insanity in the stalking case involving WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Chan, a Canadian in his 40s who faced federal stalking charges that could have carried up to five years in prison, will be released into ICE custody after a yearlong legal process.

Authorities say Chan traveled to Morgan’s private residence in May 2025, attempted to force entry, handled a pellet rifle on the porch and left a note claiming a “friendly visit” before later being detained at the Performance Center. Two psychologists testified Chan suffered from delusional disorder and an adjustment disorder and was unable to grasp the wrongfulness of his actions; he waived his right to a jury trial. Morgan is currently competing in WWE’s Queen of the Ring tournament and is set to face Charlotte Flair in Friday’s SmackDown semifinal.
