Speaking on his Impaulsive podcast, Paul revealed the tendon tore off the bone with a fragment of bone attached when Angelo Dawkins landed on him late in the match; he said he initially mocked Punk’s similar injury but now understands how severe it can be and felt the snap and immediate pain in the ring.

The injury has left Paul feeling “mentally stuck” and depressed as he begins recovery following surgery, with doctors estimating roughly six months out. WWE will not strip the World Tag Team titles from Austin Theory; Bron Breakker (and other Vision members) will fill in alongside Theory for defenses, and the company is already exploring additions to the faction, including Maxxine Dupri, while Paul rehabs and plots a return.
