Mercedes Mone Teases Potential AEW WrestleDream Match With Bayley
Mercedes Mone stirred speculation after sharing a fan-made Instagram story teasing a match against WWE’s Bayley — listed under her old name “Davina Rose” — for AEW WrestleDream 2026, with Mone depicted as AEW Women’s World Champion. Mone is coming off an Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament win at Forbidden Door and is slated to challenge Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In 2026 on August 30 at Wembley Stadium, so the advertised WrestleDream bout is not currently contractually possible.
The WrestleDream date and location have not been announced and Bayley’s reported WWE contract runs through the end of 2026 (she said in April 2025 she had roughly a year and a half remaining), making any move to AEW uncertain. The two stars are longtime friends and former on-screen rivals from their WWE days, but there has been no indication Bayley plans to leave WWE; the tease nonetheless fuels fan conversation about a high-profile reunion.
