Mick Foley Keeps Door Open to ‘One More Match’ but Says Return Not Imminent

Mick Foley told Ariel Helwani and later spoke with Going Ringside that while he’s open to “one more match,” a return to the ring isn’t likely soon. The 61-year-old noted he’s lost about 100 pounds and had hip and knee replacements that improved mobility, but he still needs significant conditioning, wants to avoid further head trauma, and even mentioned he’d likely need to lose another 30 pounds; he also named Darby Allin as a dream opponent during comments made at River City Wrestling Con.

Foley, who debuted with AEW as a Double or Nothing 2026 preshow co-host, said he’ll continue in that capacity and hopes to contribute in multiple ways on-screen and off, including as a manager and media presence. He missed Forbidden Door due to a prior one-man show booking but appeared in a pre-recorded video about Owen Hart, signaling AEW plans to use him in non-wrestling roles while his in-ring future remains conditional.
