Best of the Super Juniors 33 B Block: SHO VS Jakob Austin Young!

Only five are alive in B Block, and the Murder Machine is one of them! Sho managed to cheat Charisma Itself last round, but will he finish strong? Or will he fall off of Jakob’s Ladder and out of the running?

Sho doesn’t attack #DangerousJAY during his entrance, but he does egg Jakob on. Jakob talks trash back, but then wonders where Zane Jay went. DICK TOGO IS CHOKING ZANE JAY! The fans boo as Sho then attacks Jakob! The ref reprimands, Dick shoves him aside, and Sho CLAWS Jakob’s face! Sho pushes Jakob into the ring, then he and Dick stomp away! The fans boo more but Sho & Dick double whip Jakob to ropes. Jakob grabs the ropes, then bails out. Jakob says forget this, he’s already eliminated, he doesn’t need to fight. But then Dick gets in Jakob’s way! Jakob backs up, but Sho is on the other side.

Jakob goes up into the orange seats but Sho & Dick pursue! The fans rally for Jakob while he tries to reason with The House of Torture. Jakob goes out the exit! Dick & Sho attack, but then they’re immediately sent back screaming in terror! JAKE LEE is here! Sho & Dick scurry in fear from his spooky clown make-up, but Jake CHOKES Dick while Jakob stomps Sho! The fans cheer as the Empire turns the tides, and Jakob brings Sho around the way with a headlock. The Silent Jester happily follows along, and they put Sho in the ring. The bell finally sounds, and Jakob CHOKES Sho using his shirt! The ref counts, Jakob lets go, and says he has ’til 5!

Jakob CHOPS Sho, CHOPS again, and CHOP- NO, Sho blocks and bends fingers! The ref reprimands, but then Jakob stomps Sho’s foot! Jakob KNEES Sho, whips him, but Sho reverses to CLAW the eyes! Sho runs, but Jakob catches him, spins him, and suplexes for ANARCHY! Cover, TWO! Sho survives but the fans rally behind Jakob. Jakob grabs Sho’s legs and turns him over for the BOSTON CRAB! The fans cheer as Sho endures! Sho fights his way to ropes, but Jake is there to scare him! Jakob then drags Sho back from the ropes! But DICK rings the bell! The fans boo as Jakob gets tricked, but Sho rolls Jakob up, with tights! TWO!

Jakob runs in, but is sent into bare buckles! When did that happen!? Sho then GERMAN SUPLEX into the ARMBAR! Jakob flails, but then JAKE rings the bell! Payback on Sho! Wait, Jake claims the unconscious Zane did it? Either way, Jakob rolls up Sho! TWO! Sho runs up, Jakob dodges to O’Conner Roll, TWO! Sho sends the ref at Jakob, then SPEARS Jakob down! The fans rally for Jakob but Sho hurries to bring Jakob up. Sho reels Jakob in, traps the arms, but Jakob wrenches free to ENZIGIRI! Jakob hurries to haul Sho up, hammerlocks, but Sho trips Jakob! Sho turns Jakob over, BOSTON CRAB! The fans rally as Jakob endures and fights forward!

Wait, who is this in a green lucha mask? They claim to be United Empire as they throw in the towel?!? The ref calls for the bell, and Sho wins?!?

The fans boo, we all know that’s in no way Templar or any other member of the Empire! THAT’S YUJIRO TAKAHASHI IN A MASK!! Jakob argues with the ref, how can he be so stupid!? In the end, Sho weasels his way out a loss, but will it matter with the rest of the block to go?

Best of the Super Juniors 33 B Block: Taiji Ishimori VS KUSHIDA!

The Bone Soldier is next up on the chopping block, going against the Time Splitter. Kushida may not have a shot at the semifinals, but can he still go Back to the Future? Or will Taiji make it through the round robin #ByGrace?

The bell rings and Kushida runs up! Taiji avoids one kick but not the second, and then Kushida jumps on for body scissors. Taiji fights off the armlock as he pushes Kushida to the mat. Kushida moves around, rolls back to go up and over, and he still wants that arm. Taiji stands up as he clasps hands, then he arm-drags Kushida away. Things speed up, Kushida drops down but Taiji stops himself at the ropes. Taiji runs up, LA MYS- NO, Kushida slips through! Kushida still wants the arm but Taiji pushes him away. The fans cheer the technical exchange as the two reset. They circle, feel things out, and fight for control within the clinch.

Taiji waistlocks, Kushida switches, but Taiji slips free. Kushida rolls but Taiji catches the leg guard, only for Kushida to shift and have a toehold. Taiji pries Kushida off and into a body scissors, but Kushida uses that to turn Taiji over. Kushida reaches back for the arms, and the reverse surfboard turns into a SPIDER CRAB! Taiji’s shoulders are down so it’s a cover, TWO as Taiji gets an arm up! Kushida pushes that arm down, TWO as Taiji gets the other arm up. Kushida drops Taiji but Taiji avoids the Penalty Kick to trip Kushida! Taiji has the toehold, but Kushida endures. Taiji shifts to get a deeper angle on the leg, then he drops a leg on it!

Taiji ties Kushida up in an Indian Deathlock, then adds a Koji Klutch to it! Kushida endures this unique Ground Octopus, and he manages to roll, roll, and roll, into the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer while Taiji lets Kushida go. Taiji storms over to Kushida, KICKS him in the side, then stalks him to a corner. Taiji grabs the leg to SMASH it off the mat! Kushida clutches his knee, but Taiji storms over to grab the leg again. Taiji puts the leg in the ropes, but Kushida tries to chinlock back. Taiji pulls on the leg! The ref reprimands but Taiji stops at 4. Kushida clutches his leg while Taiji paces. Taiji comes back to KICK the bad leg!

Kushida CHOPS Taiji, but Taiji DROPKICKS the leg out! Kushida crawls but Taiji keeps after him. Taiji hauls Kushida up, but Kushida headlocks to grind the hold. Taiji fires body shots to get free, then he runs up, but into a BUCKLE SHOT! Taiji flounders while Kushida goes outside. Kushida climbs the corner while the fans rally, and Kushida FLYING KNEES Taiji’s arm! Kushida KICKS and KICKS and KICKS the arm, but Taiji blocks to CLUB the leg! Two matches in and no eliminations, the pressure is on The Rogue Luchador to win and stay alive! Will Desperado still have a chance at being the Best of the Super Juniors again? Or will the Heel Master ruin things for his former friend?

The bell rings and the two circle. The fans rally as they tie up, and Despy powers Kanemaru to the ropes, only for Kanemaru to turn things around. Kanemaru backs off, but he kicks the leg! Kanemaru whips, Despy reverses, but Kanemaru avoids the low dropkick! But then so does Despy! Kanemaru blocks a kick, makes Despy do the splits, but Despy avoids the stomp to bail out of the ring. The fans cheer while Despy cools off. Kanemaru waits on Despy, and Despy returns to the ring. Despy and Kanemaru reset, tie up, and Despy headlocks. Kanemaru fires body shots, pulls on the mask, and he powers out of the hold. But Despy stops himself by grabbing ropes!

Despy ELBOW DROPS but into a headscissors! Kanemaru squeezes tight, then pushes up to put on the pressure! The fans rally as Despy endures, then Despy bridges back and moves around. Despy slips free, but Kanemaru SHOVES Despy back down into the headscissors! Despy endures the squeeze again, and he uses his own leg as leverage to pry free! Kanemaru grabs the mask and SHOVES Despy back down! Kanemaru pushes up to add more pressure! The fans rally as Despy kicks and kicks, and he makes it to the ROPEBREAK! Kanemaru lets go while the fans applaud. Kanemaru then drags Despy up to cravat and neck wrench.

Despy endures again, and he powers up, but Kanemaru avoids the swim move! Kanemaru cravats again, but Despy rolls, only for Kanemaru to hold on! The fans rally as Despy fights up, fires body shots, then wrenches, only for Despy to CLAW the eyes! Kanemaru cravats, Despy scoops, but Kanemaru slips free. Direct Drive beat Desperado just last round, so all he needs is to win and he’s in! Will Yoh finally have his moment in BOSJ? Or will Charisma Itself ruin it all?

Daisuke throws his jacket at Yoh! Daisuke CLUBS Yoh, whips him, but Yoh reverses, only for Daisuke to RUN him over! The bell rings as Daisuke keeps moving, Yoh stays low, but Daisuke drops onto him for a CROSSFACE! Yoh scrambles to the ROPEBREAK, and the fans cheer as Daisuke lets go. Daisuke drags Yoh up, underhooks, but Yoh trips Daisuke! Yoh ties Daisuke up in Paradise! The fans cheer, and Yoh takes his time taking off his extra tassels. Yoh gets a stretch in while Daisuke is trapped. Yoh then lines up a shot, and he DROPKICKS Daisuke out of Paradise! The fans cheer while Daisuke flounders away.

Yoh waits on Daisuke, then storms up, but Daisuke YANKS Yoh out of the ring! Daisuke hurries after Yoh, kicks low, and brings him around with a headlock. Daisuke SMACKS Yoh off the apron! Daisuke then asks Murata-san for some help. And then he snatches the chair away! The ref reprimands, but wait! Yoh takes Milano Collection AT’s chair! The fans cheer as the two stare down, and it is a standoff as the ring count starts. Both men wait on the other to make a move, but we’re past 10 of 20! Then 13! Yoh and Daisuke keep mean mugging, but we’re past 15! 17! 18! 19! Both men JUMP into the ring! The fans cheer, as odd as that was.

Yoh and Daisuke step up, Daisuke fires a forearm but Yoh kicks low! Daisuke fires another forearm, Yoh kicks again, and repeat! Daisuke then CLAWS Yoh’s eyes! Daisuke whips Yoh to a corner, then runs up, but he blocks a boot and KICKS the other leg. Daisuke DRAGON SCREWS the bad leg, and Yoh hobbles away. Daisuke stalks Yoh to CHOP BLOCK the bad leg! Daisuke steps on Yoh’s leg, digs his heel in, but the ref counts as Yoh has the ropes. Daisuke steps away at 4, and Yoh clutches the knee. Daisuke drags Yoh up, grabs the leg, but Yoh fires forearms. Daisuke kicks the leg again, but Yoh kicks back to DDT!

The fans rally while both men are down. Both men stand, Yoh kicks low and DDTS again! The fans rally again while Yoh waits on Daisuke. Daisuke stands, but he blocks the kick to spin Yoh. Yoh dodges to kick and DDT again! The fans cheer the hattrick while Daisuke crawls to the ropes. Yoh wags his finger as he storms over, kicks low, and even calls his shot! But Daisuke holds ropes, Yoh just falls from his own DDT! Daisuke runs up and kicks to DDT! The fans rally as Daisuke runs to basement DROPKICK! Yoh tumbles out of the ring, Daisuke builds speed, and Daisuke DIVES! Down goes Yoh and the fans fire up!

Daisuke shakes out the stars, then he hobbles his way back into the ring. The fans rally while Yoh is down, and Yoh slowly rises up. Daisuke aims from a corner as Yoh rolls inside. Daisuke waits on Yoh to stand, and he FLYING LARIATS! Daisuke then underhooks, PEDIGREE! Cover, TWO!! Yoh survives and the fans fire up! Daisuke frowns but he drags Yoh into a drop zone. Daisuke goes up, up, and takes aim, MACHO ELBOW FLOPS as Yoh moves! The fans rally again while both men are down! Yoh goes to a corner, Daisuke the other. The fans fire up and Yoh throws up Too Sweet! Or is it Love? Either way, Yoh runs in, but Daisuke blocks the eye pokes! Daisuke sends them at the ref, the ref manages to block, and Daisuke CLUBS Yoh! Daisuke runs, but into the EYE POKES! Cover, TWO! The fans fire up as Yoh tunes up, and he SUPER- NO, Daisuke blocks, then he wrangles Yoh into the CROSSFACE! Yoh endures, even as Daisuke pulls on the hold! The fans rally harder and harder as Yoh fights his way over, but Daisuke rolls him away from the ropes! CROSSFACE!! Yoh endures, claws at the mat, then he rolls to a cover! ONE, but into ANACONDA VICE!!

The fans rally as Daisuke now endures! Yoh puts on the pressure, but Daisuke fights to sit up. They both stand, and Daisuke grabs the ref! Then he CLAWS Yoh’s eyes! Best of the Super Juniors 33 B Block: Robbie Eagles VS HYO!

For the Sniper of the Skies, this is the moment of truth. He promised to win out and go to the finals, but he has to beat The Panther first! Will Eagles fly to the semifinals? Or will Hyo go Hunting and take down a mighty prey?

The bell rings, both men run up, and Eagles wheelbarrows to go for the legs! Hyo kicks free, but then Eagles blocks the stunner! The fans cheer the standoff, and both Eagles and Hyo show claws are out. They circle. tie up, and Hyo headlocks. Eagles powers up and out but Hyo RUNS him over. The fans cheer and Hyo runs the ropes. Eagles drops down, hurdles over, but Hyo shoves Eagles. Hyo drops down, gets the zoomies, but Eagles dodges the low dropkick. Things speed up, Eagles hurdles and RANAS, but Hyo handsprings through! Hyo ducks ‘n’ dodges to RANA, but Eagles cartwheels through! Dropkicks cancel out and both men kip up!

The fans cheer again, and even Eagles applauds the athletic ability. Hyo has a lot of the fans on his side, and Eagles offers a handshake. The fans rally for that, and Hyo accepts. Then Eagles trips Hyo! Eagles KICKS the leg, runs, but Hyo hurdles, but into a SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO, and into RON MILLER- NO, Hyo hurries to the ROPEBREAK! The fans cheer but Eagles stomps Hyo. Hyo fires forearms, then he whips, but Eagles reverses to WHEEL KICK! The fans applaud, and then Eagles KICKS Hyo. Robbie runs to basement DROPKICK! Cover, TWO! The fans still rally, and Eagles stalks Hyo to a corner. Eagles CHOPS, then he SNAPS the suspender straps! Hyo is stinging from that more than the chop! Hyo says that hurt, the ref reprimands, but Eagles apologizes. Eagles CHOPS, whips, then runs in, but Hyo dodge! Hyo runs up but Eagles puts him on the apron. Hyo slingshots back in for the CUTTER! Eagles bails out and the fans fire up. Hyo builds speed to FLY! Down goes Eagles and the fans fire up with Hyo! Hyo high-fives the front row and revels in the cheers.

Eagles sputters but Hyo still soaks in the cheers. Hyo thanks the fans then goes back to Eagles. Hyo stands Eagles up, puts him in the ring, and the fans rally up. Hyo stalks Eagles to a corner, whips corner to corner, but Eagles reverses. Hyo goes up and over, handsprings away, then comes back to CALF KICK! Hyo brings Eagles around to SENTON! Cover, TWO! The fans rally as Eagles toughs it out, but Hyo vows to end this. Hyo drags Eagles up, reels him in, but Eagles fights the lift with elbows. Eagles CHOPS and the fans fire up! Hyo SOBATS, KNEES, and runs, but into a SOBAT and BLINDSLIDE LARIAT! The fans cheer while both men are down!

Eagles shakes out the stars, and he KICKS! KICKS! KICKS! Eagles runs, Hyo follows and slides, gets the zoomies, then somersaults to DDT! The fans fire up while Hyo kips up! Hyo keeps after Eagles with a SAIDO! Bridging cover, TWO! The fans fire up as Eagles survives, and Hyo shouts, “IKU ZO!” The fans fire up again as Hyo goes up the corner. But Eagles hurries to anchor Hyo on the corner! Hyo CLUBS away on Eagles, but Eagles CHOPS! Eagles climbs up, up, but Hyo fires body shots! Hyo then cravats Eagles, but Eagles fires body shots! Eagles adjusts, but Hyo CHOPS him down! Eagles SUPERKICKS in return!

Eagles goes back up, drags Hyo onto his shoulders, SUPER TURBO BACKPACK!! But Eagles has to crawl to the cover! TWO!! But then Eagles has the legs! RON MILLER SPECIAL!! Hyo flails, scrambles, reaches out, but Eagles THRASHES the hold! Hyo fights forward, drags Eagles along, and the fans rally harder and harder! But Eagles drags Hyo back to center!! Hyo flails, SLAPS at Eagles’ leg, but then he TAPS! Eagles wins!!

Winner: Robbie Eagles, by submission (gains 2 points; Hyo earns 0)

And there it is! The Sniper of the Skies didn’t need his full arsenal, but he got the win with his best shot! The five-way tie at 6-3 shuffles out, and it will be Yoh as second, and Eagles as first! The fans cheer as now the semifinals are mighty! But wait, Sho runs out here and asks what the hell! He beat Eagles, right? But Sho lost to Yoh and a couple others, that’s why he’s out! Sho says that makes no sense! Sho BOOTS Hyo and stomps him down out of frustration! Eagles dares Sho to fight him if he’s so upset! But then Hyo anchors Sho’s feet and Eagles snatches the “Black Mirror!” Eagles SMACKS Sho down with it!

The fans cheer as Hyo drags Sho away, and Eagles gets to celebrate his moment! But who from A Block will meet the Sniper and Direct Drive?

Best of the Super Juniors 33 A Block: Kosei Fujita VS Daiki Nagai!

While B Block started with five alive, A Block is a bit more open. The Japanese Young Punk wants to go back to back, but can he make it out of the round robin? Or will the Unbound Young Lion pull off the biggest upset ever?

The moment Fujita is ringside, Daiki DIVES onto him! Down goes Fujita and the fans fire up with Daiki! Daiki tosses Fujita’s nice fur jacket aside, then he puts Fujita in the ring. The fans rally for Daiki as he climbs a corner. The bell rings and Daiki MISSILE DROPKICKS! Cover, TWO! Daiki brings Fujita up, ROCKS him with forearm after forearm, then a CHOP! The fans cheer as Daiki whips corner to corner, then he runs up, but Fujita dodges! Fujita spins Daiki to CHOP him down! Valiente handsprings for the superhero landing! The fans cheer as Valiente and Robbie reset. They circle again and Robbie fires the fans up more.

The bell rings and Kasai points to the step ladder Taguchi brought. Taguchi picks up the ladder, but the ref wants him to put it down. They tug-o-war over it, but then Kasai DROPKICKS Taguchi into the ladder and the ref! Down goes the ref, and Kasai stomps Taguchi around. The fans rally as Kasai ROCKS Taguchi, then says this is what Taguchi gets for poking fun at him. Kasai whips Taguchi to ropes, Taguchi reverses, and he HIP ATTACKS Kasai down! Taguchi stomps away on Kasai, then gets his step ladder! Taguchi SMASHES Kasai with it, then he fetches his swim goggles! Taguchi puts on the swim cap and the goggles, then asks the Young Lions steady the ladder?!

Taguchi climbs up, salute and HIP HARBOR FLOP! Taguchi flounders but Kasai takes the step ladder, and he SMASHES Taguchi with it! Kasai then SPANKS Taguchi with it! The bell rings and the fans rally up as the two circle. They feel things out, tie up, then break. They go again, clinch, and Akira waistlocks, half nelsons, then cravats. Titan endures the neck wrench, pries the hold open, but Akira powers through to a facelock. Akira then wrenches an arm to wristlock. Titan rolls, kips up, and cartwheels to handspring and arm-drag! The fans cheer as Titan then SHOTGUNS Akira down! Titan hurries after Akira, wrenches and whips corner to corner, but Akira reverses. Titan goes up and over, handsprings away, but Akira TOSSES Titan out! Akira builds speed, but has to bail out as Titan slides in!

Titan gets moving, but Akira slingshots to CUTTER! Direct hit and the fans fire up! Akira drags Titan up, TOSSES him back out, then he tells fans to move! The fans hurry away before Akira BOWLS titan into the chairs! STRIKE! The fans applaud while Titan is slumped down in the wood bleachers. Akira soaks up cheers and jeers, then he snatches a Mexican flag from one of the fans! Akira CHOKES Titan with it! The ref reprimands but Akira stops at 4. Akira mocks the Mexican flag as he waves it, then throws it on the floor. The fans boo but Akira drags Titan from the chairs. Akira then puts Titan in the ring, cocky covers, TWO!

The fans applaud as Titan toughs it out, but Akira pushes him down to clamp on with a straitjacket variation on the CAMEL CLUTCH! Titan endures and the fans rally up as Akira pulls on the arms! Titan refuses to quit so Akira lets go in frustration. Akira mocks the fans cheering Titan on while he scuffs Titan. Akira talks trash, Titan kicks at him, so Akira stomps away! Akira rains down fists, then he pulls at the mask! The ref reprimands, counts, and Akira stops at 4. Akira paces around, talks more trash, then he drags Titan up, only for Titan to CHOP! The fans cheer while Akira staggers away. Akira storms back up on Titan, but Titan CHOPS again!

Akira CHOPS in return, and Titan goes to the corner. Akira soaks up heat before he stands Titan up. Akira wrenches, whips, then runs up, but Titan BOOTS, SOBATS, FRONT KICKS, fires fast hands, and a WHEEL KICK! The fans fire up with Titan while he goes to the apron. Titan springboards in, CROSSBODY! And a DROPKICK! Akira tumbles out, the fans fire up, and Titan builds speed! But Zane gets Akira to safety! The fans boo Zane, but Akira hurries to the apron! Titan takes a swing, Akira THROWS him down, but Titan kips up to PELE! Akira is on the apron, and Titan goes up the corner! The fans rally as Titan aims, APRON DOUBLE STOMPS!!

Both men fall to the floor while the fans fire up! Titan clutches a foot, but he still hobbles his way over to Akira. Titan puts Akira in, hurries after to cover him, TWO! The fans rally as Titan keeps his cool. Titan stomps Akira, then winds up to KICK him in the side! The fans rally and duel as Akira sputters, but Titan underhooks. Akira fights the lift, powers Titan to the ropes, but the ref counts. Akira breaks free to CHOP! Titan stands Akira up to CHOP back! Akira comes back to CHOP! Titan CHOPS again! Akira CHOPS again! the fans rally as the CHOPS keep going, but then Akira CLAWS Titan’s eyes! The ref counts, Akira shoves him away!

The fans fire up but that was a little double-edged with Titan’s bad leg.

Akira sputters, Titan rises, and Titan climbs up the corner! But Zane gets on the apron! The fans boo but Akira ROCKS Titan in the distraction! Akira climbs up, but Titan fires a forearm! Akira fires back and the two brawl up top! The fans rally as Titan winds up, and he fires a flurry of shots! But Akira ROCKS Titan in return! Akira drags Titan up to SUPERPLEX! And then a roll through, but Titan GOURD BUSTERS! Titan aims, but Zane moves Akira aside to take the SUPERKICK! The fans cheer that, at least! Akira whips, Titan reverses, then Titan goes Matrix to CALF KICK! The fans fire up as Titan skins the cat!

Titan aims from up top, to SUPER CROSSBODY Zane!! The fans fire up as Titan springboards in again, MISSILE DROPKICK! Akira bails out, Titan builds speed, and Titan DIVES! Direct hit and down goes Akira! The fans fire up as Titan hurries to bring Akira into the ring! Titan rises up the corner once again, for LA LANZ- NO, Akira shifts, and he rolls Titan into the GROUND- NO, Titan ghost pins it! TWO!! Akira NOVA FIREBALLS to the face! Cover, TWO!! Titan survives, but Akira hurries to roll, GROUND TARANTULA!! Titan kicks and flails, fights his way over, but he can’t make it! Titan TAPS, Akira wins!!

The bell rings and the fans rally up already. It is mostly in Wato’s favor as he and Nick circle. They feel things out, tie up, and Wato waistlocks. Nick wrenches free to wristlock, but Wato spins and wrenches in return. Wato hammerlocks, but Nick slips through to switch that onto Wato. Nick then headlocks, but Wato spins to wrench free. Wato headlocks in return, but Nick pries the hold open. Nick hammerlocks but Wato slips through, and the two back away. The fans cheer the standoff, and the two reset. They tie up again, and Nick headlocks. Wato powers up and out, but Nick RUNS him over! The fans applaud while Nick runs the ropes.

Wato drops down, hurdles, but Nick leaps over. Nick comes back to hurdle and UPPERCUT! The fans cheer as Nick kips up. Nick then brings Wato around, CHOPS him to the corner, then storms up to kick low. Nick whips corner to corner, then runs up, but Wato BOOTS him away. Wato runs to BULLDO Nick down! The fans fire up while Wato brings Nick around into a chinlock. Wato digs his knee into Nick’s back, but Nick reaches out. Wato keeps Nick from the ropes as he puts on the pressure, but Nick still kicks forward to the ROPEBREAK! The fans applaud, Red Shoes counts, but Nick is pulling at Wato’s fingers, so Wato stomps Nick down.

Wato brings Nick up, whips him to ropes, then ELBOWS Nick down! Wato clamps on a chinlock but the fans rally as Nick endures. Nick fights up, but Wato spins him around to hit a BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! The fans applaud as Nick toughs it out, but Wato clamps on a chinlock. Nick endures again, and the fans rally as he fights the hold. Wato squeezes tight, but Wato fights to his feet. Nick rises, storms over to Wato, and brings him up, but Wato breaks free!

Nick dodges to handspring and STUNNER! Nick holds on, to ASAI DDT! Cover, TWO! The fans applaud as Wato survives, and Nick catches his breath while checking his chin. The fans rally up again as Nick rises up, and he brings Wato around to reel him in. Nick hooks a leg but Wato fights the suplex. Nick CHOPS Wato, the fans cheer, and Nick tries again! FISHER- NO, Wato wrenches free to ROCK Nick! Nick mule kicks, whips, but Wato RANAS Nick outta the ring! The fans fire up as Wato builds speed, and Wato FLIES! Down goes Nick and the fans fire up again! Wato feels the energy, and he puts Nick back in the ring.

Wato goes up, up, and MISSILE DROPKICKS! Cover, TWO! Nick is still in this and the fans applaud again. Wato rises and the fans rally up as he goes to Nick. Wato stands Nick up to wrench, clinch, but Nick fights the lift! Wato still tries but Nick still fights! Wato KNEES low, then whips Nick, only for Nick to reverse and ROCK Wato! Nick runs, but into a CALF KICK! Nick bails out so Wato hurries to take aim! PLANCHA but Nick dodge! Wato still BOOTS first! Wato turns up, but into a SPANISH FLY on the floor! A little double-edged for Nick but the fans fire up all the same! Red Shoes starts the ring count while both men stir.

Nick and Wato are still down at 10 of 20, then at 13. Nick sits up at 15, Wato follows, but both men are still on their knees at 18! They spring to life at 19, and both slide into the ring! The fans cheer as the match continues! Nick and Wato slowly crawl to center, and they grab each other by the hair, then they stand up. Nick fires a forearm first! Wato fires in return! Nick fires another forearm, and Wato fires in return! The forearms keep going, and they pick up speed! The fans rally as the shots keep going, then Nick fires a flurry. Nick winds up, but Wato BODY BLOWS! Wato goes to run but Nick reels him in for a forearm to the back!

Nick goes to run, Wato spins him, but Nick slips around! SNAP DRAGON, and then a somersault CODE RED! Cover, TWO! Nick is stunned, but he shrugs it off to go up the corner. FROG SPLASH! Cover, TWO! Wato survives and the fans cheer again! Nick huffs ‘n’ puffs and roars as he rises up! The fans rally as Nick hauls Wato up, then hooks the leg for a FISHERMAN BUSTER! Cover, TWO! Wato survives and Nick is surprised, but the fans rally up again. Nick rises, he takes aim, and he BUZZSAWS! Then he goes up, up, and WAYNE’S- NO, Wato catches Nick, and TSUTEN- NO, Nick slips free, swings, but into the crucifix takedown!

Wato hooks Nick up for RECIENTEMENTE!! Cover, TWO!!! Nick survives and the fans fire up again! Wato is beside himself, but he and Nick go to the ropes as the fans rally again. Both men drag themselves up, then Nick runs up, but Wato blocks the kick! Wato ROUNDHOUSES, then HALF ‘N’- NO, Nick flips through the throw, then ROUNDHOUSES back! The fans fire up as Nick runs the ropes, but Wato dodges! SLINGBLADE! Nick sputters as the fans fire up with Wato! Wato scoops, T T D!! Cover, TWO!! Nick survives again and the fans fire back up! Wato roars, he waistlocks, and TSUTENKAKU!! Bridging cover, WATO WINS!

The Prodigy put up quite the fight, but he still fell off the mountaintop! And as the math is added up, with tiebreakers here and there, Kosei Fujita goes in as the second seed, and Master Wato as the first seed!! Wato’s victory was worth it all, and perhaps wilder is how the semifinals shapes out. Wato will face his current tag partner in Yoh, while Eagles will face his current tag partner in Fujita!! Being the main event winner tonight, Wato takes the mic to say in English, “Nick… You are so great. Thank you so much. But, next against you, I kill you.” The fans and Nick have a good laugh, and Nick takes a bow to show his respect.

Wato then continues in Japanese, “Now it is my turn. I have seen in my mind’s eye the vision of me winning this. I will win the Best of the Super Juniors and finally, for the first time, be IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.” The fans applaud, and Wato promises, leave it to him! Wato knows he and Yoh will face off next, and Wato would like Yoh to come out here, but maybe not if Yoh has already headed home. That said, Wato vows to win it all! The fans cheer, but will the Way to the Grandmaster lead straight to the top of NJPW?

My Thoughts:

An awesome night for the ninth round of BOSJ, and I liked how they had all of one block first to finalize the results before going to the other. B Block was surprisingly straightforward, where every entry still in the running was winning out, leaving it up to the various tiebreakers to filter things out. Great stuff for Eagles and Yoh to advance, and even for Sho to throw a fit over just missing out. The spoilers happening in A Block was good stuff, that was a really great showing from Daiki even in his ninth loss. At the same time, he’s only just graduated from Young Lion and is the kayfabe replacement for Douki, so if anyone was going winless, it was him.

Great upset from Taguchi over Kasai, and a great match from Titan VS Akira. Wato winning out is great for him, and what a great plan all along to put the tag partners against each other in both semifinals. No all TMDK finals, and no  all Hontai finals, and no telling who wins, but we’re going to get awesome match after awesome match to finish this tournament.
