MJF praises AEW locker room as most “harmonious” it’s been, says he respects every contender
AEW World Champion MJF told the Shut Up and Wrestle podcast that, while competition for top spots remains intense, the locker room is the most harmonious it has been in years. He said the nastiness of past eras has largely faded and that he respects every performer in the title conversation — 1A, 1B, 1C — while acknowledging some competitors still let ambition turn toxic.
MJF, a three-time AEW World Champion, also confirmed he won’t defend the title at Forbidden Door on June 28 but will lead a heel team in a steel cage match that includes Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Kazuchika Okada, Andrade El Idolo and Jake Doyle against Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Konosuke Takeshita and Darby Allin. He added that many in AEW are students of the game who study wrestling history and apply it to their craft.
