Nick Khan says Cody Rhodes beating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 “always the plan”
WWE President Nick Khan has pushed back on comments from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and others suggesting Cody Rhodes’ victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 was a last-minute change. Khan maintained that the finish — Rhodes dethroning Reigns — was part of the original creative plan, directly contradicting the narrative that the decision was altered on short notice.
His remarks shift the conversation around one of WWE’s most talked-about title changes, reinforcing that the company had long-term intentions for Rhodes’ push.
