NJPW’s Tiger Mask Open to Character Being Continued After Retirement
NJPW veteran Tiger Mask has confirmed he will retire next month and said he is open to the idea of the iconic masked persona continuing after he hangs up the boots. The announcement underscores the enduring nature of the Tiger Mask character in Japanese wrestling and leaves the door open for NJPW to pass the role to a successor.
The masked legacy has long been a staple of puroresu, and Tiger Mask’s willingness to see the character live on reflects both respect for that tradition and consideration for fans eager to preserve the persona. NJPW now faces the decision of whether to appoint a new wrestler to carry forward the Tiger Mask name and its storied history.
