NXT Builds to Great American Bash as Tony D’Angelo Confronts Naraku; Nattie Returns

WWE NXT continued its push toward The Great American Bash — being promoted as the first NXT premium live event on broadcast television — with Corey Graves back on commentary and a tense contract signing between champion Tony D’Angelo and challenger Naraku. In a pre-taped segment the two signed on for their title match, with Naraku ominously declaring “evil is coming.” On the undercard, Tavion Heights pinned Jackson Drake to become the No. 1 contender to Myles Borne’s North American Championship, while Izzi Dame and Arianna Grace advanced in the Women’s Speed tournament.

Veteran Nattie Neidhart made a strong return to NXT, grinding out a hard-hitting win over Jaida Parker by submission with a sharpshooter. In tag action, NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice and Kendal Grey defeated Zaria and Kelani Jordan when Vice pinned Zaria, leading to a post-match brawl and further heat between Vice and Grey after Tatum Paxley attacked Zaria at ringside.
