Paul Wight Sees Physique Gains as He Eyes AEW Return
Paul Wight says he is noticing real changes in his physique as he pushes toward a hoped-for return to the AEW ring, sharing a gym progress photo on Instagram and noting, “Starting to see real results. Today is better than yesterday.” The former Big Show — who has undergone 11 surgeries — is working down from the 380s with a target weight of 350 pounds as he focuses on conditioning and health.
It has been more than two years since Wight last wrestled, and the 54-year-old is determined to be an asset to AEW rather than a liability, emphasizing control over conditioning and weight. While he has remained active as a commentator, community ambassador and media presence and recently signed a new deal with the promotion, Wight still names Kenny Omega and Darby Allin as dream opponents and expects to transition into a mentoring, advisory role when his in-ring career ends.
