Pete Dunne Vows to Prove He’s ‘One of the Best’ After Cardiff Win Over Leon Cage

Pete Dunne, wrestling under a mask for WWE as Rayo Americano and working behind the scenes for Lucha Libre AAA, returned to the ring unmasked with WWE’s permission on Friday for Attack Pro Wrestling in Cardiff. The 32-year-old defeated Leon Cage, thanked the fans for sticking with him and admitted the last few years have been a “weird ride,” vowing that every time he steps between the ropes he will prove he’s still one of the best wrestlers in the world.

After the match Dunne praised Cage and predicted he would one day surpass him, saying British wrestling will rise again because of talents like Cage. Dunne — a leader of the recent British wrestling boom that spawned WWE’s NXT UK — now teams with Tyler Bate as Bravo Americano alongside El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) and continues to work as a producer, including on the acclaimed Kaiser vs. Chad Gable mask match.
