Rick Martel Denies Turning Down WWE Hall of Fame Induction, Clarifies 2015 Axxess Invitation
Veteran star Rick Martel took to Twitter to refute recent reports that he turned down a WWE Hall of Fame induction, saying he was only invited to appear at WrestleMania Axxess in 2015 and declined the spectator role because he wasn’t ready for appearances at the time. Martel stressed he never refused a Hall of Fame offer and indicated he would be open to induction if pursued, a clarification that follows past interviews and comments from figures like Bruce Prichard.
The Quebec-born wrestler, now 70, is back doing convention bookings after a long absence and remains known for his time as AWA World Champion, his Strike Force tag team run in the WWF, the “The Model” persona, and multiple WWF Tag Team title reigns; he also had a late-career stint in WCW. For context, the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class included names like Kevin Nash, Madusa, Rikishi and the late Randy Savage.
