Road Dogg: Wrestling booking became about the money after AEW’s arrival
Road Dogg told Busted Open Radio that the wrestling landscape shifted once AEW emerged as a serious competitor to WWE. With AEW making competitive financial offers, signing top talent who had left WWE and securing two shows on network television, the former D-Generation X member says the dynamics for wrestlers and promotions changed dramatically.
He suggested those financial pressures have affected how companies book shows, arguing that booking decisions now often feel driven by money and that WWE, in particular, can come across as a “money grab.” Road Dogg’s comments highlight how competition for talent and television exposure has reshaped creative and business priorities in modern wrestling.
