Sareee Responds to Missing Owen Hart Foundation Tournament; Tony Khan Says AEW Door Remains Open
Sareee addressed fans after being pulled from the Owen Hart Foundation tournament when AEW doctors did not clear her hours before the June 10, 2026 edition of Dynamite, with Maya World stepping in to face Skye Blue in the quarterfinal. The Japanese star, who announced a month off on May 13 for “neck maintenance,” wrote she was “very disappointed” to miss the tournament, apologized to fans, and reiterated she wants to return; she had said she was cleared by doctors in Japan but not by AEW medical staff.
AEW President Tony Khan replied to Sareee’s message, telling her “no apologies are necessary,” wishing her a good recovery and that the “door to AEW is open” whenever she’s ready to return. The exchange underscores AEW’s openness to her comeback while medical clearances remain the deciding factor for her in-ring return.
