Simone Johnson Reflects on WWE Exit, Weighs a Quieter Public Life
Simone Johnson, who performed as Ava and served as the on-screen general manager of NXT, says her decision to leave WWE earlier this year was the result of multiple factors and a sense that it was simply time for a new chapter. In her first interview since departing, Johnson told The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi she’s grateful for her WWE experience, calling it a dream come true, but added she doesn’t regret stepping away to pursue different opportunities.
Johnson is now working with her mother Dany Garcia and is creating lifestyle content with partner Tatyanna Dumas on Instagram and TikTok, though she says she’s unsure she wants to return to the same level of public exposure she had in WWE. The daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also reminded fans she made history as WWE’s first fourth-generation wrestler, following Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia before her.
