Simone Johnson Wanted a Creepy Goth Character, Wrestled as Ava in Schism
Simone Johnson, daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, signed with WWE in February 2020 and reported to the Performance Center. She made her televised debut in October 2022, aligning with Joe Gacy’s Schism under the ring name Ava Raine, later shortened to Ava.
Ava remained a member of Schism until the faction disbanded in October 2023, and Johnson has discussed creative directions she’d like to explore in NXT, including a creepy goth character that would showcase a darker side of her persona.
