The Butcher Set to Face Josh Barnett in First Post-AEW Match
Andy Williams, better known as The Butcher, has been booked to face MMA star Josh Barnett at the Produce event on August 3, marking his first match since departing All Elite Wrestling. The announcement follows reports that The Butcher and The Blade are now free agents after their AEW contracts expired; the duo had been with the promotion since 2019.
The Barnett matchup represents a high-profile start to Williams’ post-AEW singles work and gives fans an intriguing clash between a longtime tag team star and a legitimate combat sports veteran. The booking renews interest in where The Butcher and The Blade will land next as free agents in the wrestling landscape.
