Thekla Proud to Represent Austria Alongside WWE’s Gunther

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla says she’s proud to see herself and WWE star Gunther put Vienna, Austria on the pro-wrestling map, telling TMZ Sports that their success has helped a scene that previously flew under the radar. Thekla noted that two top stars coming from the same small city is remarkable, while Gunther’s status as WWE’s dominant Intercontinental Champion and former world title contender underscores that rise.

Thekla also dismissed the idea of being in competition with Gunther, praising his in-ring style and saying they simply play different games. She’s set to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Starlight Kid at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, while Gunther will challenge Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Title at Night of Champions.
