Thekla says she respects Yota Tsuji’s comments about AEW and Forbidden Door

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla responded to Yota Tsuji’s recent Tokyo Sports remarks suggesting he might skip the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door to protect his home promotion. Speaking with TMZ Sports, Thekla said she respected Tsuji’s stance — “I kind of respect him for that because he’s just straight up like, ‘No, we got our own thing here in Japan’” — and called the situation interesting as the companies navigate their working relationships.

Thekla also reiterated how proud she is to represent Stardom while holding the AEW Women’s title, and she questioned whether the talent-sharing between AEW, New Japan, Stardom and CMLL will remain cohesive or splinter. Tsuji’s participation at Forbidden Door remains unconfirmed; Thekla is scheduled to defend her championship against Starlight Kid at the event.
