Tony Khan used Thursday’s pre-Forbidden Door media call to touch on a wide range of topics, saying he’s carefully scheduling AEW programming around the FIFA World Cup and noting last night’s Dynamite was positioned to highlight Mistico and Bandido ahead of Mexico’s game. He confirmed Redemption will be AEW’s tenth pay-per-view this year, addressed visa and NJPW ownership issues, and pushed back on assuming outcomes for the ROH Tag title picture in the upcoming three-way; Khan also reiterated that many free agents linked to AEW remain under contract elsewhere. On the MyAEW front he said talks with partners like CMLL have occurred, acknowledged New Japan World’s role for NJPW content, expressed selective interest in acquiring libraries (ROH being the only one acquired so far), and welcomed the idea of a week of indie shows around major AEW events.

Khan also provided personnel and medical updates, saying Sareee arrived cleared by her personal doctor but was not cleared by AEW medical staff for the Owen Hart tournament and that he hopes to debut her in the future. He described dual contracts as workable — citing success with CMLL — but said they “take two to tango,” and noted that talents such as Toni Storm, Keith Lee, Britt Baker and Jay White are all in different stages of status and availability.
