Utami Hayashishita Returns to Stardom, Challenges Suzu Suzuki for World Title at Korakuen Hall

Stardom confirmed Utami Hayashishita is officially back on the roster at a June 22 press conference where company president Taro Okada presented her with a Stardom track jacket and announced she will challenge new World of Stardom Champion Suzu Suzuki at Korakuen Hall on June 30. Suzuki, who crashed the press conference, captured the red belt over Sayaka Kurara this past weekend for her first World of Stardom Championship reign.

Hayashishita, who returned to Stardom after finishing with Marigold on May 23 and is a former World of Stardom Champion, recently pinned top star Saya Kamitani in an eight-woman tag match, potentially setting up more title shots if she dethrones Suzuki. “I used to hold the red belt myself… I really want that belt too,” Hayashishita said, while Suzuki challenged Hayashishita to show the fierce, ambitious version of herself rather than a relaxed, complacent side.
