Will Ospreay Urges Yota Tsuji to Take Pride in IWGP Title, Criticizes NJPW Booking
Will Ospreay continued his commentary on New Japan Pro-Wrestling Monday, responding to new IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji’s suggestion that NJPW talent boycott AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door due to years of questionable booking. Ospreay said Tsuji should take pride in holding the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, noting the title’s prestige despite frustrations with how the promotion has operated.
Ospreay also took aim at NJPW’s talent management, citing Gabe Kidd as an example of a performer the company hasn’t fully capitalized on and arguing that NJPW needs to do a better job elevating its stars rather than discouraging cross-promotional opportunities. He urged a focus on making the championship and the roster mean more through stronger booking decisions.
